Marty Wilhite

Marty Wilhite

Bass

Marty moved to Branson, Missouri in the late 1980’s with his brothers to headline their own show in the live music capital of the world. After a successful run with his own show, Marty was afforded the opportunity to play bass, and sing for many artists in live shows as well as in the recording studio. Some of the artists he has worked with are Bob Hope, Andy Williams, Tony Orlando, Loretta Lynn, the Osmond Brothers, Jimmy Osmond, Jim Stafford, Debby Boone, Collin Raye, T.G. Shepard and grammy award winner, Larry Gatlin. For many of these artists Marty was session leader in the studio, and/or music director for the live shows and traveled with them as well.

For the last five years Marty has been production manager for the Mansion Theatre and the Oak Ridge Boys Theater. Along with being responsible for all the technical personnel, he was the music director and co-producer for all of the in house production shows. One of those shows was Country Tonite, which was a cast of six musicians, four singers, eight dancers, and a comedian/MC. Not only did Marty perform in and head up this fantastic show, he had the honor of taking them to Baghdad, Iraq in 2009 to perform for our troops. Marty has won the title of bass player of the year twice and Duo of the year with his wife, Kenya. Marty is also lead singer for the group “The Wilhites” , whose latest album contains some of his original songs and arrangements and can be heard on gospel radio across the country, with their latest release written for them by Larry Gatlin.

Marty also enjoys full artist endorsements from Warwick basses and amps, Tobias basses, Carvin basses and amps, La Bella strings, and GHS strings.
