Randy Luna is an Ozark native from Springfield. Randy was only three when he toddled up to his first piano and played a note perfect tune. He hasn’t stopped since.
Randy’s whimsical and creative side lead him to opening a children’s theatre in St. Louis. With his lyricist and creative partner Caroline Van Stavern, Blanket Theatre produced a score of original musicals and productions that have since been produced in other cities.
Luna Traquilities, an all original series of relaxing music CD’s was his next venture. One night when recording his next original tune, Randy received a phone call from Branson. Shoji Tabuchi needed a keyboardist and needless to say, Randy got the gig. Randy spent five years at the Tabuchi Theatre as both keyboardist and arranger. He still serves as arranger and music consultant.
Randy’s next gig took him to the lake, as the music director for the Showboat Branson Belle. If you’ve been on the Belle, then the music you heard during the show was and is entirely arranged by Randy. Next on his venue list was Country Tonight where he played keyboards for the show as well as for the guest stars. This lead to being a backup keyboardist for Collin Raye as well as a recent trip to Washington, D.C. for the wonderful Hughes Brothers and Debby Boone by request.
In his 13th year in B-Town, Randy spends his extra time as a studio musician including a recent gig for the ever popular Peter Pan. When he does have time off, Randy fishes as often as possible and bakes wonderful cakes for his friends and family. Randy and his wife Karen have a child in the form of a poodle named Wolfie after Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
